Must have contract office furniture experience within the NY area
Proficiency in CAP / AutoCAD / Z-Axis (HM program)
Attends client planning meetings. Determines requirements / Programming. Reviews site verification, conducts field measurements
Reconfigurations: Includes existing furniture inventory, applying existing product to new furniture layout and incorporating any new product that may be needed; produces drawings/specification and pull from inventory list if necessary
Develops and presents block and space plans - Space planning involving furniture layouts (no architectural elements etc.)
Develops drawings for specification and installation. Validates plans against construction drawings
Develops product specs. Manages all changes and revisions
Create drawings and corresponding CAP specifications/BOMs Herman Miller o This should include all Herman Miller seating and filing Excluding any item with COM/COL (Sales/PMs are to provide proper model #s and/or descriptions for Design to include these in their drawings/specs)
Input other manufacturer CAD blocks and symbols into background
Maintain constant communication with Sales/PMs to get info to complete projects
Submit/request custom product SA#s from Options
Develop enough product knowledge to determine if options pricing is in line
Capable of determining other solutions other than specials to create a value engineered solution Attends job meetings with sales, project management and installation companies for preinstallation discussions
Installation drawings/packages
Electrical coordination
Site visits, when necessary, to assist in product questions - *only if job is complicated with custom/redesigned/atypical product etc. Otherwise, should be function of PMS and/or Field Manager
Product and architectural knowledge
Strong communication skills with client and architect
Capable of specifying ancillary furniture and systems furniture when requested.
Select furniture and finishes as well as create visual presentation boards (when necessary/applicable)
Specification verification and second count
Capable of handling full scope design projects: selecting paint, carpet, millwork, etc. (When necessary/applicable)
CAD skill: create non-standard furniture block
