Job Overview: The Senior Designer, Enterprise UX is responsible for researching, designing, innovating and prototyping new user experiences for our enterprise experiences and internal tools that pave the way for the future of retail. Deliverables include design mockups, experience flows, prototyping, design presentations, production of visual assets, process design and development, and follow up for proper implementation. The candidate will collaborate with business owners, engineering and technology teams and will be a key contributor to the user experience solutions. This position requires exceptional design skills, creative problem-solving, a great sense of aesthetics, strong cross-team and cross-functional communication/coordination/collaboration, as well as user-centered design principals. The applicant must have an affinity for minimal design, typography, and attention to the smallest of details. A strong ability to distill complex problems into simple and elegant solutions. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Functions: The key responsibilities for this role include developing creative and innovative design solutions for enterprise tools and experiences that support multiple types of users in different types of roles with varying scope and objectives. Create and influence decisions that help implement an enterprise design language that is consistent throughout all internal tools and external customer facing experiences. Identifies areas of opportunity and finds creative solutions that distinguish experiences from competition. Constantly measure how designs are performing and iterate to improve those experiences. Influences team roadmaps to include experience improvements when the design or product is not performing or needs improvement. Invest in building relationships and trust with stakeholders, peers and working groups to build a strong network of collaboration. Set an example and create opportunities to foster collaborative cross-discipline dynamics. End user focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover end user insights and being able to take those insights and define the desired outcomes. Evidence of solving large scale problems for end users and ability to take complex concepts and simplify them for the end user in the form or elegant enterprise experiences. Experience with working in cross-functional, Agile teams to design large-scale user experiences that meet business objectives. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality. Qualifications : Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering, graphic design, design communication, human-computer interaction, or related field and 5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education. An excellent portfolio showcasing UI/UX and visual design work with a strong design sensibility and articulate storytelling. Evidence of exceptional design ability is a must. Experience translating user needs into visual assets. Familiarity with research and usability strategy deliverables such as discovery findings, mental models, scenarios, user journey maps, personas, debrief documentation, screeners, testing plans, task lists, low and high-fidelity prototypes, annotated wireframes, and/or clickable prototypes. Experience with approaches to translating findings into tangible designs such as heuristic reviews, usability testing, competitive product analysis, web metrics data, field research, quantitative surveys, user interviews, and persona development. Experience with rapid prototyping and visualization tools such as Axure, iRise, Balsamiq, Omnigraffle, Adobe CC, Invision, Flinto, Framer, UXPin or other UX prototyping tools. Experience with visual software tools such as Adobe illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch, Fireworks and other design tools. Experience with style guides, iconography, and/or typography. Experience with front-end web and mobile technologies such as CSS, HTML5, and front-end frameworks such as JavaScript/JQuery/Angular/React/Bootstrap, Section 508 compliance, API and general understanding of back end technologies such as Java that are required to build out experiences. Partnering well with technology is a must. Ability to perform in a fast paced, high stress iterative design process under minimal supervision. Excellent command of enterprise user experience, design principles, problem-framing skills, and beautiful visual design skills. Interest in working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern software design and development team. Familiarity with software development process, software configuration management and tools like GitHub, JIRA, Confluence or similar tools. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read, write, and interpret business and technical documents. Demonstrable presentation and interpersonal skills. Mathematical Skills: Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills. Reasoning Ability: Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions. Physical Demands: This position involves regular ambulating, sitting, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
