The UX Designer is a key contributor in developing the user interface for a group of products including client/server, hosted, SaaS, and IOS solutions. You work both independently and collaboratively, love all things design, and can enthusiastically defend your designs and design decisions. You are a team player that thrives in a cross-functional environment with a lot of contributors. You are happiest when you are creating wireframes and designs that visualize a product concept. This opening is a full-time, temporary position.

Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with Product and Development to translate business concepts to design
  • Develop user flows, wireframes and prototypes that convey a consistent, effective, and efficient user experience
  • Create layouts that combine efficiency, hierarchy, and balance, to help the end user successfully complete tasks
  • Develop a deep understanding of user needs and priorities, and keep user-centered design at the forefront
  • Participate in compliant usability testing and data analysis
  • Present, communicate and defend design concepts and functionality using your understanding of interface elements, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Work within the sprint to meet team commitments and complete UI stories
  • Reach beyond customer perceptions to develop usability options that that exceed the standard user interface notion of 'look and feel.

Required Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience as a user interface design professional
  • Solid understanding of professional methodologies and best practices used to develop and implement complex user interfaces
  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Demonstrated experience in creating deliverables for complex interfaces: including user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity comps.
  • Ability to articulate designs and design decisions to stakeholders and engineers
  • Ability to take constructive feedback and apply it iteratively to improvements to the overall experience
  • Design portfolio showing a variety of visual, UI, and web designs, and the role you played on each project
  • A. or B.S. in front end, web design, visual design or similar discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience working in an Agile environment on a Scrum team
  • Familiarity with FDA regulated usability testing and basic usability requirements
  • Knowledge of accessibility best practices
  • Background in life sciences, medical technology, or in a clinical environment
