As part of the global packaging innovation department this role will work with R & D, consumer insights, brand marketing and packaging teams to support corporate strategic initiatives, create innovative packaging concepts and platforms, and identify and develop fast-growing skincare category packaging needs. A considerable part of this role will include working across all brands at the Estee Lauder Companies to create breakthrough innovation and speed to market solutions in all skincare subcategories promoting customer experiences. This will involve leveraging both internal capabilities and external partners, accelerating the biggest opportunities in key markets, adopting new trends quickly - all by using a consumer-centric and benefit-driven approach. The candidate will need a strong background in industrial design, project management, and be continually driven to innovate first-to-market solutions for prestige beauty.
Bring innovation, creativity and design thinking to the corporate category. Take an active role in the ideation process by providing inspiration through sketches, proof of principle mock ups, high level renderings and prototype models of concepts.
Utilize design skills to capture concepts and ideas through 2D hand sketches and 3D printed models and mock ups
Seek out trends that directly or indirectly impact skincare and personal care creating net extra opportunities.
Utilize digital design and engineering skills to create, validate, and analyze 3D files facilitating appearance and working prototype models.
Identify emerging themes and support product market packaging trends, gaps, and innovative opportunities corporately & brand level
Identify consumer benefits leading to ideal product models & or identify technologies & technical approaches which meet project objectives. Defines how the technical choices & levers affect the critical desired consumer benefits & experience.
Define and develop innovative concepts and product forms supporting category and brand needs
Be a specialist in category & how it connects with other categories.
Create innovative packaging concepts and platforms in tandem with packaging brand leads and present and share big ideas across the corporation; brand partners, cross-functional partners, and senior stakeholders
Develop and drive packaged product innovative business cases with brands for brand adoption and sponsorship
Lead special corporate projects - supporting strategic initiates
Collaborate with a diverse range of functional teams both branded and category
Identify barriers to innovation and provides possible solutions to remove obstacles
Direct and indirect management of internal teams and external suppliers and resources - every day leader
Project manage multiple programs at any given time and provide frequent updates to relevant stakeholders
Fuel upstream innovation by partnering with consumer insight teams and generating new packaging opportunities
Proactively identify & drives consumer or organizational improvements to step change business growth & agility.
Ability to adopt & carry out evolving business requirements.
Converts ideas to practice based on experience & technical mastery.
Makes timely informed recommendations & decisions when dealing with uncertainty.

Minimum BS degree in Packaging, Science, Engineering or Design
Demonstrated creative thinker with the ability to articulate and execute new ideas successfully

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to successfully handle multiple concurrent tasks
Collaborative and agile team member that can quickly adjust to changing business needs
Ability to work well with brand leaders, R & D teams and senior stakeholders

BS or MS degree in Package Engineering, Industrial Design, or other related engineering fields
Experience in the cosmetics or personal care industry preferred
Must be proficient in Solid Works, Key Shot, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign
